Privacy Policy
What we hold about you, why, and how to get rid of it.
LawyerSaathi is a document assistant for advocates practising in Gujarat. This policy explains what personal data the service holds, why it holds it, and what you can do about it.
It is written to be read, not to be survived. If any part of it is unclear, write to us and we will answer in Gujarati or English.
1What we hold about you
Everything below is either something you typed into LawyerSaathi or something the service recorded while you used it. There is no third category — we buy no data, and we receive none from data brokers or advertising networks.

2Why we hold it
Each item has one purpose and is not reused for another.
- Your email and Google identity: to sign you in and to keep your workspace yours.
- Your name, office and practice details: to fill them into the documents you generate, and to label your own workspace.
- Your documents and marked fields: to provide the service you are using.
- Your document setup: so every filing starts in the format your court accepts, without you setting it again.
- Your reviews: so we can find out whether the product is any good.
- Your generation and sign-in records: so your dashboard can show your own usage, and so you can see who has been in your account.
3Your clients’ data
A pleading, affidavit or agreement you upload will usually contain personal details of people who are not LawyerSaathi users — your clients, opposing parties, witnesses. We process that material only to do what you asked: read the document, let you mark the parts that change, and produce a new document from it.
We do not read, index, analyse, aggregate or train anything on the contents of your documents. No document you upload is visible to any other user of the service, and none is used to build shared or sample templates.
In relation to your clients’ data you are the Data Fiduciary and LawyerSaathi is a Data Processor acting on your instructions, in the terms of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Obtaining whatever consent or authority you need to put a client’s details into this service remains yours.
4Who can see it
No other user of LawyerSaathi can see any of it. That is enforced by the database itself: every table holding your rows carries a policy that permits a signed-in user to read only rows belonging to their own account, and file storage is private with no publicly reachable URL.
A small number of our own operators can reach it in order to run the service — to investigate a fault you report, or to remove content that breaks the terms. Your reviews are read by us on purpose, since that is what you wrote them for.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we run no advertising or analytics scripts of any kind. We will disclose data to a court or public authority only where we are legally compelled to, and only so far as compelled.
5Who else processes it
LawyerSaathi is built on two third parties and no others. Neither is permitted to use your data for its own purposes.

6How long it is kept
For as long as your account exists, and then not at all — with one narrow, deliberate exception.
- Delete a template and its Word document is deleted from storage with it.
- Settings → Storage will remove rendered previews and any file you uploaded but never turned into a template. Previews are rebuilt automatically when next needed.
- Delete your account and your profile, practice details, every template and its fields, every uploaded document, your document setup, your reviews and your generation history are all permanently removed. This is a real deletion, not a hidden flag on a row.
- The exception is the sign-in record. Those rows survive deletion in anonymised form — your user id, IP address and browser are stripped out, leaving only that a sign-in happened, when, by what method, and whether it worked. This is kept so that a question like “was this account accessed by someone else before it was closed?” can still be answered. What remains identifies nobody.
7Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, and complain about how we have handled it.
- Correction: your profile and practice details are editable yourself, at any time, from Profile.
- Erasure: Privacy & Security → Delete my account does it immediately and completely. You do not need to ask us.
- Access: write to us and we will send you everything we hold in a readable format.
- Complaints: write to lawyersaathi1@gmail.com first. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8Children
LawyerSaathi is a professional tool for advocates and legal document writers. It is not offered to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly hold data about children as users of the service.
9Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will say so in the product rather than only revising this page quietly. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
